Our Story is about positive change from survival to empowerment
Our History
BLAQ DIAMONDS Women Empowerment was born from lived experience, cultural strength and a deep commitment to supporting First Nations women on their journey toward healing and self-determination. After surviving more than 18 years in family and domestic violence relationships—and witnessing the pain and silence experienced by so many of our women—I felt an undeniable calling to take action. I had seen firsthand how abuse can take away a woman’s voice, her confidence and her sense of worth. I knew something had to change.
In 2015, while still living through the trauma of domestic violence, the vision for BLAQ DIAMONDS was first sparked. That vision stayed with me through every step of my healing journey. After escaping that environment and briefly returning to work, I soon realised that traditional employment couldn’t support the level of healing and purpose I needed to pursue the start of my new business and becoming my own BOSS!
In 2017, I made the brave and transformative decision to turn my vision into reality. BLAQ DIAMONDS Women Empowerment was officially launched as a sole trader business in Townsville—a platform that not only helped me rebuild my life, but has since empowered many other women to do the same.
Social and Cultural Awareness
We champion First Nations cultural leadership by delivering immersive, on-Country programs that blend cultural practice with personal growth and professional development.

Our services reach women across remote, regional, and urban communities, helping to bridge the gap between First Nations female entrepreneurs and their non-Indigenous counterparts. We are proud to promote:
- Cultural inclusivity and reconciliation
- Economic collaboration
- Leadership diversity
- Community-led impact
Together, we are building a more connected, equal, and culturally safe future — led by strong First Nations women who are rewriting their stories on their own terms.
