What we are doing
The introduction of the first Australian member to the IFIP philanthropic community in 2019 marked a momentous occasion that led to subsequent partnerships with Australian funders and First Nations organizations. IFIP hosted its first Australia Regional Dialogue held in September 2022, at the request of First Nations Leaders followed by a second Australia Dialogue in May 2024. The addition of an Australian First Nations representative to IFIP’s Board of Directors in October 2023 further highlights IFIP's commitment to geographic representation of Indigenous leaders in philanthropy and inclusion if Indigenous people in its board.
These actions demonstrate IFIP's unwavering dedication to fostering deeper connections with both the philanthropic sector and Indigenous communities in Australia. Through these initiatives, IFIP aims to support an increasing number of Australian members in their exploration and advancement of Indigenous Philanthropy, encouraging collaborative growth and cooperation within the Australian philanthropic landscape.
