Why It Matters

Transforming the philanthropy space to be more inclusive and acknowledging of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and self-determination can only be achieved through strategic collaboration between the funding community and Indigenous Peoples. Through research and knowledge-sharing, we pave the way for meaningful partnerships and informed action. This collaborative effort is essential for creating mutual understanding, respecting Indigenous sovereignty, and addressing the unique challenges and priorities of Indigenous communities. By working together, we can create a philanthropic landscape that values Indigenous perspectives, promotes equity, and empowers Indigenous Peoples to shape their own futures.
